The Department of Youth Services and UNICEF collaborated with stakeholders to host the first "Rural Outreach and Recruitment Fair". The new outreach program had its first of many in the village of Bella Vista, Toledo. These new outreach and recruitment fairs will cover a wide variety of services that are both informative and useful for the youth in these communities. Services include but are not limited to menstrual hygiene, health, and child protection, along with recruitment for Nex'Us and U-Report.
The youth of the community graciously welcomed us to learn about the different services and information available. The youth were optimistic and excited to learn and participate at the booths that were in attendance. The stakeholders, in collaboration with DYS and UNICEF, were all grateful and impressed with the support and interest of the community.
These mobile clinics are necessary to reach our rural youth, who are often left behind. This is the first of many, and we do look forward to reaching out to many more rural villages. Look out for us and see you soon.
